Named as one of the best buildings in the country, West Dunbartonshire Council's offices was the result of a conservation project with new modern office space added behind the William Leiper-designed Grade A listed façade, from the former Dumbarton Academy
Specified by Keppie Design, Indeglås were tasked to develop the design intent for the internal glazed screens to ensure maximum connectivity with daylight throughout the new flexible civic space, meeting & training rooms - forming the public front of house and three floors of flexible office space.
The internal screens required to perform to a high acoustic standard and support the naturally lit and ventilated building strategies.
The £15.4 million project was delivered for West Dunbartonshire Council by Hub West Scotland as a development partner with main contractor Lendlease and is now recognised by the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) in the regeneration category as a grand final award winner.
