Sited in the heart of Haddington, East Lothian, St Mary’s Kirk epitomises Scotland’s rich religious history and heritage.
Indeglås were tasked by JM Architects to design and install a high performance glass secondary entrance screen with detailing so subtle and minimalistic that the stunning statement made by this most spectacular of 16th century churches would remain without compromise.
Components were formed in polished brass and frameless glass scribed to the original stone pillers and flagstone floors to achieve a screen which is quite simply stunning. Effectively creating a barrier to the elements, the screen has enabled a function space to be re-instated in the centre of the church.
Located under a priceless, ornamental church organ, the project management and installation of the screen required the precision of an engineering master-class.
