Top construction industry decision-makers applaud rebranding of Deko Scotland as Indeglås.

Almost 100 people, including leading architects, specifiers and construction industry senior executives, gathered in the sensational surroundings of the Glasgow City College Riverside Campus on 29 June 2017 to celebrate the launch of Indeglås, the newly-minted trading style of DEKO Scotland. Indeglås translates from Danish as “inside glass”. The Riverside Campus building was the perfect venue since its interior glass system was designed and built by Indeglås. The solution formed part of a building design which was nominated for the UK’s most prestigious architectural award, the RIBA Stirling Prize in 2016.

Founder and Managing Director, Jeanette MacIntyre, told her audience that her company has now been given exclusive distribution rights throughout the UK and Ireland on leading glass manufacturer DEKO of Denmark’s products. Taking the company’s hard-won knowledge and contacts acquired from its long-term relationship with DEKO and re-launching as Indeglås was a natural progression for the company, she said:

“Indeglås has significant expertise in the art of enabling architects and designers to put natural light at the heart of their spaces and we have created and supplied innovative interior glass solutions and bespoke systems which divides spaces within educational, healthcare, and local government premises whilst enhancing the well-being of their occupants.

“Indeglås is our way of reflecting our deep respect for the well-recognised and successful Danish design philosophy, ‘Form Follows Function,’ while allowing a distinct brand to come to the fore.

“I want Indeglås to be the name on everyone’s lips in the construction industry when it comes to internal glass applications”, said Jeanette.

As well as magnificent surroundings and high-quality drinks and canapés, the audience heard a fulsome endorsement of Jeanette and her team from Peter Krogh, Chief Executive of DEKO of Denmark, who, together with DEKO Export Manager, Poul Langoff had made a special trip from Copenhagen to enjoy the Indeglås rebranding celebration.

He said: “DEKO is fully supportive of this exciting new initiative to create a new brand which, I have no doubt, will not only enhance Indeglås’s engagement with the design and construction industry in the UK and Ireland but also go on to become the name these companies trust and look for when seeing the perfect interior glass partner.”

Our photographer, Paul Zanre, was on hand during the evening and here’s a selection of his images.
